About NM Design

Nm Design is an architecture studio located in the heart of Margaret River, led by Registered Architect Nicola Marchesi. With over a decade of experience delivering thoughtful client-centred-architectural projects, we bring a grounded and responsive approach to every design.

We specialise in residential architecture, as well as small-scale commercial and community projects. Our work is deeply rooted in site sensitivity, with designs that blend seamlessly into the natural environment of the South-west, from the outside through to the inside.

Prior to establishing NM Design, Nicola specialised in heritage consultation and building work. This background shapes our approach—drawing on experience with existing sites, constraints, and older fabric. We regularly design renovations and extensions that breathe new life into older buildings while adapting them to meet contemporary needs.

Collaboration is at the core of our practice. We believe in fostering open communication, transparency, and partnership throughout every stage of the design process. This ensures your vision is heard, respected, and brought to life with clarity and care.

We believe in timelessness, not just trends. For this reason, each element is thoroughly considered to ensure it works cohesively overall. We believe this principle offers the most value and is the most sustainable approach to building. Our client’s needs are layered into this and we believe with an enjoyable design experience, we are also creating a lasting memory when building that will stand the test of time.

Our Goals

Our goal is to create spaces that embody a sense of timelessness, from floor plans that flow effortlessly to materials and forms that resonate with the surrounding landscape. Every detail is thoughtfully considered to ensure a harmonious and cohesive design outcome.

At NM Design, we don’t just create buildings; we create lasting memories. We strive to make the design experience enjoyable and meaningful, crafting spaces that stand the test of time and enrich the lives of those who inhabit them.
